Kristina Powell-Samuel

Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I’m happy you found your way here! I’m Kristina, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker born and raised in Miami and rooted in Caribbean culture. I became the therapist I once needed as a teen. With a background in medical social work, community mental health, and my own experience in therapy, I support teens, young adults, adults, and couples including members of the LGBTQ+ community who are navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship patterns using cognitive behavioral therapy and a solution focused approach. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I believe you are in the driver’s seat of your own life and I am here in the passenger seat, helping you navigate the map. Therapy should feel like a safe space where you can be honest, heal, and learn how to choose yourself without guilt. I also believe finding the right therapist is about connection and comfort. When you feel understood and supported, real change becomes possible. I would love to support you as you navigate your next chapter. I’m glad you’re here!

Fun Facts

Beyond the Therapy Room

Favorite self-care activity?

Watching movies or listening to music with a facial mask on. It is my favorite way to unwind, relax, and reset. I also enjoy traveling whenever I can. My last two favorite destinations were Cartagena, Colombia and Lisbon, Portugal.

Favorite book as a teen?

The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah. It left a lasting impression on me and sparked a lot of reflection about relationships, choices, and growth.

Favorite stress-busting technique as a teen?

Music and art were my biggest outlets. I also loved playing The Sims, which gave me a creative way to escape and decompress.
