FAQs

We've taken time to answer some of the most common questions that we receive.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept Aetna, Cigna, and some EAP's.

In any other case Bloom is an out-of-network provider. We do not process other insurances but can provide receipts or a “Super Bill” at the end of each month that you can use for reimbursement from your insurance company.

Do you only work with Teens and Young Adults?

Bloom specializes in treatment for teens and college students. However, if we are a good fit and can help you meet your mental health goals we are open to working with people outside of this population. Please schedule a complimentary consultation so we can see if you qualify.

How do I know when my teen needs Therapy or Counseling?

Just like adults, children face many challenging and stressful situations within their daily lives. However, children are less equipped to handle them, which means that they may begin to act out in response to trauma or stress. Check out our Blog entry, Normal Behavior vs. Concerning Signs from a Teen Therapist.

How much does Therapy cost and how do I pay?

Bloom Therapy Sessions range from $135-$200. Every client is required to keep a card in our secure client portal via Simple Practice. Payment is required 24 hours before your appointment

What is the difference between ART and EMDR

If you are deciding between ART and EMDR for your teen but Both are safe and effective for treating trauma, but the choice depends on specific needs.
ART can be a quick solution, typically completed in 1-2 weeks, and it doesn't require retelling traumatic events—great when time is limited. ART is visually based focused is on changing the images of memories that are causing distress.
EMDR, on the other hand, is an 8-phase treatment adaptable and beneficial for various conditions like depression, anxiety, and OCD. It is cognitively based focused on changing the feelings associated with traumatic memories.

Where are you Located?

18510 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Lutz, Fl 33548.We are in the Chateau Professional Park, just south of the Cheval entrance.

Which is better, Therapy or Medication?

It is well established that the long-term solution to mental and emotional problems and the pain they cause cannot be solved solely by medication. Instead of just treating the symptom, therapy addresses the cause of our distress and the behavior patterns that prevent change. At Bloom we encourage our clients to utilize an integrative approach to mental health wellness. Therapy in tandem with medication is the way to go! We can help you work with your medical doctor or psychiatrist to determine what’s best for you and your family.
Check out our Blog entry Therapy Vs Medication. We also recommend you reach out to Medication provider to have all of your questions answered.

I am not a college student, will you still work with me?

Yes, college students are young adults and that is our specialty. We know that College students, Young adults, and twenty somethings all fall in a group that stands on the cusp of adulthood, a period characterized by self-discovery, exploration, self-focus, instability, identity development, and feeling in-between. As they shape their identities and navigate their paths, 'twenty-somethings' find themselves in a unique and often transformative period.

Why don't you accept ALL Insurance?

Bloom has chosen not to accept all insurances directly for a couple of important reasons:

  • No mandatory diagnoses: In many cases, insurance companies require a formal mental health diagnosis in order for therapy services to be covered. We work extensively with teens and young adults, a population that is rapidly growing and changing. Assigning a rigid diagnostic label may not accurately reflect their current situation and can potentially stigmatize their experience.
  •
  • We want to ensure that the treatment we provide is determined solely by the needs and best interests of our clients, not dictated by insurance regulations or limitations. When treatment decisions are made based on insurance policies, it can restrict the length, type, and frequency of therapy sessions, which we believe should be guided by the therapeutic process and the unique needs of each client.

Even though we do not bill insurance directly, we do provide a super bill or statement of reimbursement that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
